The SSE Hydro — now known as the OVO Hydro — is Glasgow’s landmark entertainment arena and one of the busiest live music venues in the world. About the Hydro
Designed by the renowned architects Foster + Partners, the Hydro seats up to around 14,000 people and forms part of the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) on the north bank of the River Clyde. Its curved, weather-shell exterior is lit from within at night, glowing in ever-changing colours — a striking sight beside the neighbouring “Armadillo” (Clyde Auditorium) and the SEC Centre.

Visiting the Hydro
The arena is a short distance west of Glasgow city centre on the Clyde. There are bars and food outlets on site, and plenty more in the surrounding Finnieston area, one of Glasgow‘s most vibrant districts for eating and drinking.
