Tantallon Castle is located on the coast on the outskirts of North Berwick. The castle ruins are perched on top of a cliff with stunning views over to the Bass Rock. Built in the 14th Century the castle is managed by Historic Environment Scotland.

The Castle is open to the public daily between 10am and 4pm.

Free entry is available for those who are Historic Scotland members. English Heritage members, Cadw members and Manx members get half price entry in their first year of membership and free entry thereafter.

East Lothian has many attractions worth visiting. Near Tantallon castle is Seacliff beach, a small secluded sandy beach at the bottom of a hill. This is great for a leisurely stroll or a summer bbq. Other attractions include FoxLake adventures, National Museum of flight and the Scottish Seabird centre.
