Carmunnock Highland Games 

Carmunnock Highland games is held on the last Sunday of May. This year it will be held on the 31st May 2020. The event is held at King GeorgeV Park in Carmunnock. The village of Carmunnock is located 3 miles from the town of East Kilbride.Carmunnock Highland Games 

What to expect

The event has heavy weight competitions, Pipe bands, a Chieftain procession, come & try events and Highland dancing.

  • 12.30 pm Games Open with opening ceremony & Chieftain procession
  • Pipe Band
  • Highland dancing
  • Heavy Competition including tossing the caber and the Stone Putt
  • Come & try events including the tyre throw and the Hay Bale roll
  • Plus a range of other fun activities and events.
  • Various craft stalls
  • 5.30 pm Event closes

How to get there

Carmunnock is a village 3 miles west of East Kilbride. If travelling by car from East Kilbride take the A726 Queensway then turn onto the Carmunnock Bypass. There is parking available at the event.If travelling by bus the Number 31 bus (run by First buses) operates from Glasgow to East Kilbride. This stops in Carmunnock village and takes around 30 minutes.The nearest train station is in the nearby village of Busby.
