North Berwick Highland Games

North Berwick Highland games is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2020. This year it will be held on the 8th August 2020 at Recreation Park in North Berwick. The location, Recreation park is situated in the seaside town of North Berwick next to the firth of Forth.North Berwick Highland Games

What to expect

The event has a pipe band competition, heavy weight events and Highland dance. The attendance is normally around 15,000 people at this event.

  • Drum Major Championships
  • Come & try events
  • Pipe band march & Chieftain Parade through the town
  • Plus a range of other fun activities and events.
  • A range of craft stalls
  • 6.00 pm Event closes

Performers

In prior years Pipe bands come from all around the world and have included the City of Blacktown pipe band, the New Zealand Police, the 78th Fraser Highlanders and the Royal Army of Oman.

How to get there

North Berwick is located 25 miles from Edinburgh and takes approximately 40 minutes by car via the A1.The town has a train station and trains run regularly from Waverly station in Edinburgh. This takes approximately 30 minutes via the East Coast main line. The station is approximately a mile away from the venue. Train timetable and prices can be found on the Scotrail website.If travelling by bus East Coast buses operates the X5, the 124 and X24 bus service from Edinburgh. Times vary but the bus would take approximately an hour and ten minutes from Waterloo place in Edinburgh. Visit the East coast website for more information on timetables and prices.
