Ardmore Legacy Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Category:

Description

Ardmore Legacy is the flagship, no-age-statement expression from the Ardmore distillery in rural Aberdeenshire — and one of the more unusual Highland single malts, because it’s gently peated in a region better known for unpeated whisky. It’s an approachable, well-priced introduction to the smokier side of the Highlands.

About this whisky

Ardmore Legacy is built around the distillery’s traditional peated spirit, blended with a proportion of unpeated malt and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and quarter casks. Bottled at 40% ABV, it’s designed to be balanced and easy-drinking rather than a peat monster.

Tasting notes

  • Nose: sweet wood smoke, honey, vanilla and a hint of green apple.
  • Palate: creamy and malty, with gentle peat smoke, honeyed sweetness and a touch of spice.
  • Finish: medium length, warming and lightly smoky.

How to enjoy it

Lovely neat or with a few drops of water to open up the smoke and sweetness. Its balanced character also makes it a great gateway dram for anyone curious about peated whisky. Read more about the distillery in our Ardmore whisky guide, or explore the wider Highland whisky region.
