Description
The Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is the flagship from Bunnahabhain on northern Islay — an unusually gentle, sherried Islay malt that’s largely unpeated, in contrast to the island’s smoky reputation.
About this whisky
Matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46.3% ABV (non-chill-filtered, natural colour), it’s rich, nutty and approachable.
Tasting notes
- Nose: sherried dried fruit, nuts, malt and a touch of sea air.
- Palate: nutty sweetness, dried fruit, honey and a soft maritime note.
- Finish: smooth, rounded and lightly salty.
